what is a good exercise to strengthen one's wrist and what is a good exercise to prevent tennis elbow.
There are sevral things you can do. First strengthen your grip by squeezing a tennis ball or use those grip exercisers that you can get for a few bucks at Wal mart ( or more at Dicks or other Sporting goods stores). Next you'll want to do wrist curls, both palm up and down. Another alternative to this is that exercise where you have a stick with a string attached and weight tied to the string. You wind up the string, thus pulling up the weight. You can buy a device, called a wrist roller from many sporting goods stores, or you can make one easy enough. another exercise is getting a heavy rubber band and putting it around your fingers so they provide resistance when you try and spread your fingers out. Be sure and do wrist stretches after playing or before you play but after you've warmed up a bit.
Before worrying about excercising the wrist make sure the grip is big enough. Small grips = wrist pain.Quote:
