Hi Sarah
My favourite player is Andre Agassi, he is just the most wonderful player and wonderful embassador for the game. You don't see him swearing and breaking rackets like Lleyton Hewitt.
Andre Agassi is the best on the hard courts, J C Ferrero on Clay, I think my Fav. Player right now is between James Blake and Andy Roddick. All time best player, although Sampras has 14 slams have to give cudos to Andre he has 8 with great chances to get more and he has all 4 slams under his belt.
Then in the womens game I have to go with Stephi Graph as the best ever sure miss her playing. Liked Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert and Gabriella Sabatina (for my favs.) Good luck on your paper
Current favorites-Seles & Roddick
Best ever-Evert, Navratilova & Graf ~ Laver & Sampras
Best players at the moment - so many to choose from.
Best Serve-Volley player in the world - Henman (when not injured)
Best all round player - Hewitt
Best Server - Roddick
Best of all time -
My favourites are Becker and McEnroe. Would probably have to put Borg in there for sheer technical brilliance. Ditto Sampras (although not a fan, I'm afraid!)
Women
My faves at the moment are Clijsters and Henin. The Williams sisters esp. Serena (although again, not fond of their style of play or attitude) would have to be in their.
Of all time
Billie Jean King, Martina Navratalova and Steffi Graf. Seles would have been in their were it not for the terrible attack in Germany. Cut doen in her prime.
And just a minor point - Agassi has been known to swear on court - he has been defaulted twice for 'Audible Obsenities' - in 1996 and 1999. He was also given a warning for swearing only last week while playing Roddick at Queens - so not the total saint we may be led to believe!
Safin the best!!!
My favorite player is Marat Safin, always:D
The best female player ever is Steffi Graf obviously!!!!
daniela hantuchova and justine henin-hardenne rawks!!!!
Currently the best women's tennis player HAS got to be Justine Henin, she has improved her play so immensely! She is also a very humble person. I hope she achieves a lot of success after her win at Roland Garros:))
The best women's tennis player ever - Graf or Navratilova - I can't decide who of the two, they were both out of this world! :D
I think currently in the men's game no matter what Andre is still the best although this season (except for AusOpen) is not the most successful for him.
And all-round one could presume that he is the best player ever to pick a racket, together with Borg I suppose.
The best tennis player of all times ? I think LEW HOAD. He was the most complete of all. At his best he was ABSOLUTELY unbeatable, he had no weak points.
Definately Andy Roddick!! He's great! And Andre Agassi is a great player as well.
Best player all time... I would say John McEnroe. Love to watch his matches.. He really comes up for himself which is great. Roddick and McEnroe really make it more fun to watch a match.
Best female player is Kim Clijsters and Jennifer Capriati
Hey people, I'd really have to back up the supporters of Steffi Graf, and Naviratilova as all time best women players.
All times best men probably Sampras, McEnroe, Laver!
But I'd have to disagree on the point that Roddick is the current best....i didnt really think so, his performances are not very consistant, but improving rapidly. Current best by far is Roddick and Agassi...Lleyton is struggling....Phillipousis is once again on the rise! Aussie Aussie Aussie!
Current best women definelty the 4 powerhouses....Serena, Venus, Kim Clijsters and Henin Hardenne!
male player it would be federer.
all-time male would be agassi
female player would be justine henin-hardene and daniela hantuchova
all-time female would be seles
Favourite female players have to obviously be the Williams Sisters, they are trully GREAT!!!
Best Current Male Singles: Andre Agassi
Best Current Female Singles: Serena Williams
Best All-Time Male Singles: Lew Hoad
Best All-Time Female Singles: Steffi Graf
Without doubt, the best current tennis player is... ˇˇˇGUILLERMO CORIA!!!.
And the all-time best player is... Andre Agassi.
Ferrero :a very great player now!
Tennis woman?I don't know!I prefer the Graf and Seles generation!
Pete Sampras - Best Male Player of All Time
However:
Patrick Rafter - Most Exciting Player To Watch....besides his amazing looks, Rafter was one of the best serve/volley players.
Andy Roddick - Favorite Current Player
Kim Clijsters - Favorite Current Player
Andre Agassi - (how can you not include Andre on any list of whos who regarding tennis) Best Attitude & fun to watch
Wish Rafter would come back!!!!:
I'm an Asian,so I think paradorn srichaphan is the best.
But, unfortunately,he has a girl friend.
What a pity!:o
the best womens player ever: Steffi Graf Agassi
the best womens player right now: Serena Williams
the best mens player ever: Pete Samprass
the best mens player right now: Roger Federer
Roger has everything, he hi the most complete player in the game right now. Andy Roddick is not even close to him, the only reason why Andy is winning is because of his serves. Roger Federer is the best
hey baby im asian and want to be ur manQuote:

i think that lindsay davenport is great but of all time i would say mionica seles in the men it would be federer and of all time it would be becker
Andre has to be the best! VIVA ANDRE!
It's difficult to say who is the best tennis player in the world right now, because for the last few years the mens game seems to have been going through a bit of a lean patch with no clear cut successors to Agassi and Sampras.
I think that at the moment it's probably more accurate to say which players have the potential to be the best in the world rather than who actually is the best, because the game currently feels as though it's just waiting for a new force to start dominating, something that none of the current top ten seem capable of (yet).
I'll give a summary of my (humble) views on the todays top players, and list them in order of capability (in my view).
Roddick.
Playing at his best, I think that Roddick is currently the worlds' best player, and also think that he has a decent chance of taking over at the top and staying there for a long time. His winning streak on the hardcourts, including his US Open victory, show that he has the potential to be the dominating force that mens tennis has been sorely lacking in recent years.
Federer.
Like Roddick, Federer has the potential to stand out from the other top players in the game, but big questions have to be asked of his mental strength. Only recently we saw him collapse against Hewitt in the Davis Cup. Try to think of a situation when any of the great players of the 70's or 80's were dominating an opponent with a two set lead, and serving for the match at 5-3, and then try to recall them choaking and going on to lose. It's difficult to imagine, and I think for that reason Federer may just end up another highly talented player who ends his career as an under-achiever who promised much but delivered little. However, it's still early days in his career, and I hope he goes on to prove me wrong.
Agassi.
Without doubt a true all time great, who, at the age of 33 and coming toward the end of his career, is still capable of producing terrific tennis and beating any player in the world. If the Agassi of ten years ago was playing in todays game, then I have no doubt he would dominate todays players, but at this stage of his career his best days are behind him, although he is still a massive threat in every tournament he plays.
Ferrero.
A fantastic claycourt player, but which catagory of claycourt player will he fall into? Will it be among those that have adapted their game to faster surfaces and gone on to win grand slams on the hardcourts, such as Lendl and Wilander, or will he find his grand slam success limited to clay, and enjoy only limited success on other surfaces, such as Bruguera, Kuerton and Moya.
My gut feeling is that this could end up being Ferrero's best year, and in the future he may only be a force on clay, but, as with Federer, I hope that I'm wrong.
Oh, and by the way, I think that the best player of all time is Pete Sampras.
ROGER FEDERER!
he is amazingly good
best male, andre
best female, serena
best ever male, andre
best ever woman, graff
i think venus williams is the best player ever.winning 4 slams is really nothing to her ,she should have won 10 slams i think.she is a complete player with outstanding athletic ability and overpowering mental power.hope she'll be no:1 again because i really wanna see her there where she belongs!!she should at least win one slam if she goes injury free and i am sure she is very eager to do that...
Safin!!! He crushed Andre's 26 match winning match streak @ the Aus Open this month. He set to win a lot more tournaments in the future and will definitely reclaim the World no.1 position soon after he wins the Aus Open...
:p male:Ferrero
female:Henin
Hi Sarah I think that Justin Henin-Hardean is the best out there right now. She just won the Pacific open and she is looking good for the coming up of play. I think she will defenatly be the top the best there is out there this year. :)
blue
best player
i think it should go to Roger Federer.
and the all-time bests are Andre Aggassi and his wife.
yahoo!!!
Have you ever heard of a guy named Roger Federer? How can you say Ferrero,Coria,Safin and Roddick are the best current players! Thier not, but Federer is, just wacth him!Federer is not competeing for the best current male tennis player any more, he already has won it. He competes in the best tennis player ever cateogory, the guys a total genuis. He is better than all the players you guys listed at everything, he has a better forhand, better backhand, better serve, better volleys, better overheads is much quicker, moves better, is meantally better etc... Now do you get the picture. Anyone who denies that Federer is the best current player doesn't watch tennis, they probably no nothing about the sport. A final word of advice- your favourite tennis player is not always the best one, please don't get these confused! C'mon Roger
Roger is the best player now
Safin is another coming up talented player. he is a huge challenge player to all the seeded or unseeded players.
Watch up him
Denise
I have no doubts that Andre Agassi is the best player of all time, i could be here writing about him many, many lines... He is so wonderfull, and the most impressive he is the one, that with 34 years-old have more chances to beat the mighty and impressive federer, and i think that´s the key point to Andre right now for 2005 season, he needs to beat roger in a big tournament, to just win big again, dont forget, that besides i didnt played wimbledown, and lost in first round roland garros, and he played only 14 tournaments, coz of his family, not for his age ( he still one of the fittest guys of the tour, and age is just a state of mind, in my opinion), he was still in the run for a houston spot, and he beat all top ten players, not counting with federer and safin, but he pushed them to 5 sets...( and a five set match can go for either way, dont forget that, and it gonna be in andre way next time, i´m sure) Andre is absolutely magnificiant, not only as a player, but also for his personalitty... I just wish u all can understand the way i feel about the best player of all times, tennis will never be the same, in the day Andre quit... Federer is good now, above the others players right now, but Andre was incredible in the 80´s, fantastic in the 90´s, and... just cant find word, for describe what he achivied in this new decade, above is 30 years old!!!!Quote:

WHAT A PLAYER!
honestly, i'm not and have never been a big time professional tennis fan. however, while flipping through the channels late one night, i managed to catch the Federer-Safin Masters Cup match in Houston, and against my own anti-sports will, i was, well, hooked. who knew hitting a ball back and forth could be so bloody interesting? And even though he lost, I thought Safin was extraordinary, especially during that tie-breaker round, so my amatuer decision for best player would be Safin. However, I would gladly marry Federer for that brand-spanking new SLK of his. Cheers.
Roger Federar and MicheaL Chang among men and Henin & Martina Navratilova among women are the best according to me.
Its difficult to say who is the best ever as you can only judge any individual against their peers of any given era. So for example in the latter eighties you had Becker, Lendl, Edberg and Wilander, whilst in the latter nineties you had Sampras and Agassi. Now was it easier to play in the latter nineties since their only were two concurrent great champions? Who knows! As the greats never competed against each other at the same time it will always be an unanswered question. Although I would say that if Federer continues to play as he has, he stands a chance of being a real contender.
However you can, I think, say who was the best server or serve-volleyer or had the best mindset etc irrespective of era.
