Power in your forehand

Hello everyone.

I need some help with my forehand. Basically i need to produce more power. My backhand is powerful but i lack that ZIP from my forehand strokes. Have any of you guys got any tips or techniques?

:) What i have always done since i started playing tennis, is that i take the ball on the rise. With the ball coming at you faster and harder, it will allow you to hit it faster and harder. If you wait for your ball to drop it decreases in speed and this means that you have to use more force to make it have that ZIP. SO the next time you play, try taking the ball on the rise and see if that helps.

I think I'm in the same boat as commando here. I've got a backhand that I love to hit, but I can't get my forehand where I want it. I've had some good success with hitting forehands on the rise, but otherwise, it's weak and I have little control. My coach says it's cause my forehand is loopy, but I'm not sure that's why I have trouble with it. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.
