Hey, i just wanted to ask if coffee would get in the way of my game? i dont always drink it but i find that at times when i do, i play alot alot better, like amazingly well. Should i stop before i get used to doing that or continue and it wont become harmful?
A little coffee won't hurt. And as long as you're not concerned with the endurance in a five setter, you should be fine. Assuming you are drinking caffeinated coffee (though even decaf has a good bit), the improvement in your game has this obvious culprit. I would suggest trying atleast a combination of a healthy diet a few hours prior to your match with your coffee. A second option would be to try the Nadal approach. Build your adrenaline and keep it going with a strong mental state. That is without a doubt, something that comes with time. Keep us informed and welcome here. :)
It can hinder your bodys ability to hold water but as long as you aren't chugging it during change of ends you should be okay. Just don't use it in place of some other form of hydration.
