If you are asking in regards to purchasing your personnal ball machine, then simply look for a low range model by the name of The Lobster, if my memorie serves me correct. Now, if your cash-flow is unlimited, then of course a higher end model may be to your liking. However, make sure that the pitch can be varied for high to low. A variable speed machine will usually cost more.
Word of advice. Get something which is easy to move. I used to live in Florida and someone had bought a ball machine and though building an enclosed dog house would prove sufficient to keep it in. Wrong, the squirrels found a way. Chewed the wiring and the foam insulation to shreds. Just keep it in a garage with some sort of enclosure over certain orficies or even a mouse could do considerable damage to your new machine.
The above of course is aimed at the individual who wants to practice on a private course, if you plan on lugging your new partner into a public or club court, then be prepared for the obvious hurdles. BTW, most clubs will have ball machines for your use during practice time.
i prefer to lug it around than not be able to find a hitting partner.
