foil..
Foil as in fencing?
Not to many people have tried foil, epee, or sabre.
Did my one semester foil in 1967, got 7th overall at the NorCalNovice meet at StanfordU out of over 400 first year fencers. Lost to the guy who won it, twice, my only losses.
One issue I had was training without the sensor wires attached, then competing with the pull of around 10 lbs on my body, making me seemingly much slower to react forwards. Since as you know, forwards is attacking and scoring points, it's a major snafu by our maestro Markee of CityCollege of SanFrancisco.
I beat his prized Olympic hopeful, a 3rd year fencer, two weeks after the tourney. I'm a lefty, played 3 years of high school football and basketball.
