High school tennis

My daughter plays high school tennis. Her coach is telling her that she has to participate in the coach's summer tennis program or she will not be allowed to play on the team. She has been on the high school team for 3 years and is going to be a senior next semester.

Can this coach really keep my daughter off the team if she doesn't want to participate in the summer program? We as a family have summer vacation plans and she will not be able to attend most of the summer program.

I really wish my vacation would last most of 3 months. ;)

Some high school sports require students to attend summer training or off-season practice. It really depends on the school and the coaches but generally if the student cannot attend for any reason I'm sure they can get out of it by involving the parents.
