I believe Juan Martin Del Potro will win, but will be hoping Gilles Simon can come through.

I look at that field and I compare it to the 1991 U.S. Open draw and the draw is quite weak now in comparison. Federer is going to take it.
Fernando Gonzalez!
Nobody knows how he will play from match to match, but boy does he put on a show!
On the WTA side, I'd like to see my Maria make it to at least the Semis. Also if Safina should make it to the Finals by some chance which I doubt, I sure hope she wins. I think the argument of having a #1`Player winless in the majors is a valid one.
.
Because, even though Rafa inspires me I think federer is a better player and he deserves to stay number one.
so many people would disagree with you. i, however, agree with you. i believe that if Nadal were able to make it to every US Open like Federer makes it to every French Open, there head to head record would be more even. Yes, Nadal beat Federer in Australia and the UK, but that's the only two non-clay Slam finals he's attended; the expectations on Federer were insurmountable. Good call Robyna
Oudin is a name that has to be taken seriously. I think she's come to the end of her amazing run. For her to exhaust Maria in the 2nd & 3rd Sets confuses me. I watched this match a couple of times and it was Maria's match to lose.
But all in things considered, what I'm most impressed by her determination not to give up regardless of the score. She does & did what I want from every kid I work with. Play every point to win until the match is over. That's all I can ever ask for.
I wish her well going forward in her career and her size means nothing. She uses every bit of her 5.5 ' frame and she is beginning to feel she belongs in the same conversations as anyone in the top 10 in the World.
Now, it's all about Venus or Serena ..
Coach, I'm surprised you're not the least bit upset. I think Oudin was handed that match through Sharapova's 20+ double faults. Petrova will knock her out in straights.
Kim Clijsters sure is looking good. :)
