    Pain in middle finger?

    Hi there.

Recently I've started getting a sharp pain in the first joint of my middle finger.

It hurts more when i'm griping the racket and serving.. servings the worst... as I hit the ball and follow through it absolutely kills...

When i let go it feels a bit better when i bend the finger it hurts slightly.. a lot more when griping something like a pencil...

    Any ideas? Thanks

    (This came on from serving...)

You sould put something on it at night!!! Like a brace thingy you know? But yea it hurts because you must not be used to the racket or your pushing yourself to hard!~hahahaha but make sure you keep that good iight it will make you a better player if you know how to take care of these isues! TRUST ME~~~

    Thanks for that

I'll go to boots or superdrug later (am in the UK) and get some of that tape stuff to wrap around at night.. see how that does it.

I have pain in my finger too!

I recently switched to the wilson pro staff 6.1 (federers racquet) and I have developed pain in my middle finger. I used to play with the Head Flexpoint.

The Wilson has a more octagonal grip than the head. I like it better but it's causing my finger to hurt.

Maybe you had a similar experience.

    a doctor ?

What about paying a visit to a doctor ?
The earlier it is treated the better chance to play without this injury...
The worse often for a player is waiting, expecting the injury to surrender...;-P
I did wait once and got my achillis heel broken. It was such a nightmare, I don't wait any longer !

I would recommend a doctor also. You don't know what the problem is and a doctor can tell you what is wrong with your finger, fix it, and help prevent it.
