    New system of the ATP

    Hi everyone!

Have you heard about the system of the ATP; the round-robin format? They will apply it in Adélaïde... I think that's bad for the lowest ranked players, they won't have the chance to break through...

It's always worth trying something new. It does mean a lower ranked player gets two matches against better players even if they lose. It becomes a normal knockout after the three person round robin section. Mind you it's a bit like a junior 12U tourny.

I agree, I read about this in tennis magazine last month. Bad idea, takes the thrill out of big upsets because the likelihood of a nobody pulling off more than one big upset a tournament is slim. This format could almost surely make Federer win everything!
