    Grunting

Hiya everyone! I'm Maggie, Just wondering but who grunts when they play tennis? I do, really loud too! But if you guys do too please reply to this. I find grunting helps, I'm more focused in the game, and when I'm hitting killers the grunt gets louder. When I'm competing in front of big crowds, I seem to never care or less about what they think about my grunt, to be honest that's what they remember me by lol. So anyways please reply to this! Maggie x

I really don't grunt very much. Grunting actually has physical advantages. For some reason, many players do not breath while hitting their shots. By grunting, you exhale and inhale regularly. Keeps you on your feet longer.

Yeah i do. By breathing out or grunting, you relax your muscles for a split second.

Anyway, i can't stand non tennis players taking the piss out us when we grunt.

I just walk off the court and leng dem man down.

    Ya Mum's got athletes foot!

I think that grunting is good but shrieking is gamesmanship. i.e. Sharapova, Serena take it to far.
