Nadal is the best player in the world right now

I will put forth this statement: I think that Rafael Nadal is the best player in the world right now; notwithstanding the current rankings.

Federer is the best player. Nadal can only beat him on clay. I would say that Nadal is the best Clay court player right now, but he is not the best player.

Well, Nadal has beaten Federer twice on hard courts; the last time was Dubai 2006. He also won the prestigious Indian Wells hard court tournament in 2007, beating Andy Roddick and Novak Djokovic in the process.
Yes, Federer is the favorite on grass, but Nadal can change his game for any surface....let us see....
