Red face Racket Question for Rookies- off the wall

I was recently asked what racket type is best for a rookie- power vs control. Good question to say the least! Let's see power is good for someone to clear the net with a half swing but then you hit alot of balls over the fence. Control is better to keep the ball in play but it will hit the net a lot of times due to a poor swing. I started out with a low power racket (70 lbs) that forced me to do a full stroke and then converted to a more powerful racket once I was able to handle stroke thus working for me.

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks.

    Tom

    Thumbs up Control definately

Newbies should focus on control before they even worry about power. If they have problems hitting it over the net then they need some strength training.
