How do I find players in my local area?

I don't want to join a league. I want to find people that just do it for fun. I tried tennismates.com but was disappointed in the number of search results. Is there a forum here for meeting other players? Anyone in the Orlando, FL area want to hit sometime?

I do like tennis very much...the forum is not the most active one though, that is true.

I posted a thread about 2 or 3 weeks before the US Open got under way, what do you think who will win, bla bla, nobody ever answered the post...that suckss real time

    Try Craigslist

    Hey there, Just browsing posts-

You should try craigslist.com. They have a section on sports and finding people and I have noticed every once in a while they have people who look for tennis partners. I live in honolulu but if you are close to a metro area chances are craigslist has something for you.

    Just a thought.

Leagues are a great way to meet players

    Hey Brackishwater,

I know you said you don't like the leagues but it is a great way to meet other players who are near your skill level. For the longest I wouldn't play in leagues because I don't necessarily like to compete. But once I gave in I found that many of my teammate felt the same way I did and now we often get together just to hit for fun. Plus I've exchanged numbers with opponents and I play with them too. Over the years I've compiled a nice list of hitting partners and now I never have want for a someone to hit with. So give the leagues a try. You never know who you might meet.

Waht does that have to do with the topic above? Start a new more specific post in the appropriate forum and you may get some help.

Try tenniswelcomecenter.com or the USTA. That's what they're there for.

Otherwise, yea, you should try Craigslist if you have that in your area.

    Good luck
