I lived in Flagstaff for almost 1 year, until I moved down to Phoenix. I moved to Flagstaff straight from Huntington Beach, Calif. We're talking Sea Level to (what?) seven thousand feet above sea level I think? The first tennis game I played, was the worst match of my life. I couldn't catch my breath because of the thin air. I do seem to recall playing on courts that were carpeted with artificial grass. Something you have to get use to but Flagstaff had a very good Tennis Community. Players of all levels can be easily found and Flagstaff has plenty of Courts to play on as well all around the City.
For anyone moving to Flagstaff who plays Tennis, do some bike riding for a couple of weeks before you attempt to play a match, if you came from a much lower altitude. Drinks plenty of water and most importantly, don't push yourself.
The difference between playing a match and hitting is remembering to rest. Players tend to play a consistent round of Tennis without properly resting when they are merely hitting as opposed to match play when you rest on odd games.
Great Place

The only acceptable loss is when your opponent was better than you on that given day.
It is never acceptable to lose when your opponent was not.

Hey All
Hey everyone,
I'm glad to be on the site. I'm basically looking for some local people to play tennis with. I'm not the greatest, but I'm not a complete beginner. I live in the Riverside, CA area.
Sincerely,
Ron

What's the W in the TennisW mean?

Welcome to all the new members!
JeepGuy, the W pretty much represents "web" as in 'tennis website' or 'tennis web' , etc. We actually don't have an official meaning for the "W" , but that's generally what it means to me at least. Maybe it could even mean Worldwide as well.
