LAWNTENNIS: ok i never knew that as I dont live in the US but; yes, lots of luck!

HARETRIGGER: As far as I know the strınger had the record tıll Roddick topped it with a 155 MPH but I'm not sure if that was broken by the stringer or if the stringer topped Roddicks.

This is what I found from google: The current record still lies with Andy Roddick, but has increased to 155 mph, or 249.4 kph. It happened on September 27, 2004 in a Davis Cup match against Belarus. Roddick was playing Vladimir Voltchkov and the serve set him up with three match points. Needless to say, it was an ace!

If you are hitting 170 mph. you are putting Andy Roddick to shame. I think 155 is the fastest recorded serve. Rosco Tanner had a rocket serve and that maxed out at 144. At 170, you should never lose a service game, ever.

Okay, I really have no idea how to get this through.
Please, UNDERSTAND, I said I hit 156 KPH, not MPH.
    OKAY, KPH NOT MPH.

I think I've done higher, once, but not sure what the accurate number is. Something
    like 170 MPH.

You have to go to certain places which has special courts.
Under the courts there is a machine which identifies exactly what speed you service goes at.
Not all courts have these though, so you have to go to big tennis centers eg.

My record serve is around 195 km/h - something i managed while on holiday on Mallorca. However, my shoulder gave me hell for a week after. I can hit 180-185 km/h serves on a regular basis.

I would love to find out how fast I serve. Our tennis club has automatic ball machines and other coll equipment, but no radar gun. I think I'll suggest that they get one. It would be a great tool to show how proper mechanics can add a few MPH.

This is very true. Back when I started this thread, my form just wasn't sound. I would guess that my first serves are around the 110 mph range now.

I think mine might be about 60 to 70. I just started playing a few months ago, so I'm happy w/ what I have now. Do you guys have any tips to accelerate it further?

    I'm only about 5'6 so...
    But hey Justine Henin did a 120 + ...

This serving method will add a lot of speed to your serve. When I first started this thread several months ago, I did not use the Cobra serve. Now that I use the Cobra serve, my first serves are always above 100 mph and I bet they've hit 120 mph.

Use the Cobra serve even on second serves. You will generate tons and tons of spin. Also, don't give up on it; it will come together for you if you keep at it and analyze your progress. Good luck
