    The only acceptable loss is when your opponent was better than you on that given day.
    It is never acceptable to lose when your opponent was not.

    Here's a video that explains how to self rate - you must join the USTA to do this:

    Be sure to rate yourself fairly - a little higher than yo think you are. If you rate yourself too low you can get in trouble when playing in USA League tennis, as I explained in the post that Coach referenced above. Good luck!

    Depends what level you play at.
    If you're a beginner the ranking system may be different as their are many beginners across the world.
    If your more to the experienced/pro side then the rankings will be straight forward and quite obvious.
