    Talking Not much at all

    No its not much.
I bought some BABOLAT lead tape. I think it came in an 18 grm +or_
i had bought a Rossignol that was 11.25 oz and wanted to bring it up to my other ROSSI thats 11.75 oz So i added 15grms. Really its not that much length and works well. I have not had much luck placing lead on the head but, like placing it on the handle.

Most likely ıt broke because of the lead tape.
    Just use normal grıp tape.
Most lıkely the sweat from your hands make the lead tape hard to grıp and thats why ıt slıpped.

i think you're right; it felt like i had no chance at preventing the racquet from slipping out of my hand.

It could have also been because of the strings; but I think it was more likely due to the lead tape.
