I'd be lying if I said I knew much about Djokovic or watched much of his matches.
I wouldn't necessarily call him a gentleman.. but he is quite funny. I like his impersonations.
He is just a normal player for me.. not inspiring, but a good player.

Felix Mantilla. A claycourt specialist from Spain. Go to youtube and type in his name and tennis. He has some great clips on there against Arazi, Federer, etc. He was a top 10 player. He really hit the ball well. Excellent speed and a great fighter. He ended up with some arm and shoulder problems, but he was pretty good.

I'm gonna go with the obvious one and say Roger Federer. I love watching him play.
BTW did anyone see how amazing he played against Djokovic at the 2009 cincinatti finals.

definitely the popular choice. i did. it was a great match. from the beginning i felt Roger would win. when he found himself 3-0 down, i knew that was the ultimate test to see if he would choke like he did in early 2009. i was very impressed with how well he held himself together. i bet it has something to do with priorities. now that he has two babies, he probably realizes how trivial a matter it is to lose in a final.

Maybe I'm showing my age, but Andre Agassi was always the one I wanted to play like...His groundstrokes are a thing of beauty!

(which begs the question, why do I hit my backhand with 1 hand?)

Absolutely my favorite player. The way he rolls those heavy groundstrokes is great.

I'm telling you, if God played tennis his forehand would look something like Verdasco's. He might even decide to copy that quality mohawk

Developing in the '70's, Connors and young McEnroe...
Early '80's, I hit like a bad PeterKorda...
Now, old and decrepid, going back towards McEnroe and his stunted flatter strokes.

I hate Murray with a great passion. He is my worst male player.
And Daniela Hatuchova.. well, nope. I like her but as a player I wouldn't really label her inspiring.
For me the top 3 most inspiring are:
    MENS:
    1. Rafael Nadal
    2. Jo Wilfred Tsonga
    3. Fernando Verdasco
    FEMALES:
    1. Caroline Wozniacki
    2. Stacey Stosur

I find it slightly hilarious that your number ones of both sexes are these two - first of all because they are tremendously alike, i find both of them so ridiculously uninspiring (in fact, i think they embody everything that is wrong with modern tennis!) because they never do anything really spectacular, bar cramping violently in the midst of matches - Other than that - awesome picks!

hmm, MagnusEffect.. Another athlete i find incredibly hard-working and humble - Caroline Wozniaki. Her run at the Open was some real entertainment.

Nadal is one of the best role models in sport. He is the ultimate fighter. Even at 2 sets down and 5-0 in the third he would never contemplate submitting to defeat. Even with his newfound superstar status he remains a gentleman whose sole joy is playing tennis and has no interest in the luxuries that come with fame and riches
