Firstly, I don't even live in the USA.
And, I am not wrong. Maybe its like that where you live.
I know a girl who is 65th in Australia and she qualified for the Junior French Open, she could have easily made it but she had problems with her foot and had to withdraw, though they were very keen about her and impressed by her.
Some of the people who play in those tournaments don't even have a world ranking.
Why am I fighting to live, if I'm just living to fight
Why am I trying to see, when there aint nothing in sight
Why am I trying to give, when no one gives me a try
Why am I dying to live, if I'm just living to die?

lol and look at Yana Bunchina, who competed in the Junior French Open 2009,
Current 52 week rank for singles:
950
See? That's in Junior World Rankings.
oh and also look at Henri Laaksonen of Finland; he went into the semis
and look at his ranking
Current 52 week rank for singles:
1349
Guilherme Clezar of Brazil ranked 1618 in juniors, went through to the quarters lolol
would you like anymore examples? cause there are several players who are far from the top 100 but are still playing junior slams.

I'm beginning to notice a trend here: Aliciasace and Robyna like to argue. :-0

lol right ok.
If people have that low a ranking then THEY HAVE TO QUALIFY...if they are lucky enough to get into qualifying. Generally if you're a good player in your country you may get a wildcard into main draw or qualifying.
-
They qualify, and most of them succeed. Which proves that the guy who is ranked 15 in his country could easily get through to the qualifying round, and that he has a good ranking. And it also proves that being a top junior in the US is also a big deal (:

Do you have any contact info and where are your facilities?

AHHAHAHHA
he isnt ranked 15 in england.
HES RANKED 15 IN HIS COUNTY
DEFINTION OF COUNTY -a. A territorial division exercising administrative, judicial, and political functions in Great Britain and Ireland.
its a small area/city in britain. Being 15 in it is nothing to brag about.

it looks like robyna and aliciasace do know what they are talking about. and i have to agree with some of the points made. you can't be ranked in the middle of the pack in your country alone. you need to venture out of the country and play ITF sanctioned tournaments and do well. US D-1 colleges will throw scholarships at you willingly if you want to play for them and get an education. whatever D-1 colleges don't get go to the D-2 schools and so forth. but if you are in the middle of the pack ranked player in your country, perhaps coming here as a foreign exchange high school student will be your best option. i'm looking for a few right now as a matter of fact.
back to the topic... robinas and aliciasace comment do make sense. hey girls, ever thought of playing here while getting a college degree?
-
I would like to play professional.
If that doesnt work out I will go to uni in america but im gonna give going pro my best shot.

I already made my example. Thousands of kids with low rankings across the world win Junior Slams. For example, I was just reading a article about a girl in India ranked 33 (In her country) and she actually made it through to the Australian Open Semi's. wow with a ranking like that what could her national ranking be!
There are several more examples, but I've proven my point (:
~junbug: eh i already go to a sports college. i'm fine with that for the time being. also what do you mean by here?
well toodles

Rob, look here XD, do you know anything about these Sponsorships? I mean I am completely confused -_-
-
robyna - someone who was 33 got into a junior grand slam" YES BUT THAT WILL BE BECAUSE HER ITF RANKING IS HIGH ENOUGH. are you stupid?
People cant get into a junior grand slam with a crap itf ranking and a crap national ranking.
