    Question Must see Dad

"Dad must be at the tennis, I can not play without him"

My husband's daughter (12 years old) can not play tennis/tournaments if he is not watching. Surely this is not good. If he moves around the tennis court she looks around until she sees him.

Our son is 7 years and will start to play tournaments soon - I do not want him to be like this as well.

Any tips will be welcome on how to handle this situation before it even starts.

hmm, Elena Dementieva does that on the pro level. maybe you could try slowly putting distance between them. have the Father sit further away. then next time a little further. then maybe make the daughter aware that the father is going to get some popcorn near the end of the second set. then say the father needs to leave around the middle of the second set for a meeting. Just keep making excuses for him to leave/distance himself and eventually she wont need him there at all.
