Smile Favourite racquet of the 80s.

My favourite racquet of the 80s and possibly all time is the Yinex R22.

It was light and easy to use at the net but it still provided plenty of power with a pretty rigid frame - it was a fantastic all-round stick as Martina Navratilova found out.

I also bought (but rarely used) the R27 which Aaron Krickstein used I believe.

I found it just too powerful - if you hit your shot perfectly then the ball didn't come back but it was too unforgiving for a player of my standard.

I've still got it though (unfortunately I have no idea where my R22 has gone), and it looks like a real beast compared with what I use now - I'm a Wilson guy and I've got a cross-section starting at the Sting, then the Surge, then the K Blade Team and finally the K Blade 98.
Gotta say the most fun (and the best for doubles) is the Sting, a lovely racquet.

    So what about you guys?
For those old enough what was your top racquet of the 80s?
For everyone what do you use now, what is your favourite and why?
Next post might examine the racquets we hate.

    Cheers.

    Talking Some New ONES

Got the Rossignol ft 6.60. It is really a nice racquet from 89. You would be able to compete with this racquet in todays tennis. I also aquired a head graphite edge its a nice quality racquet but i would only train with it.
It has a very small head and is demanding to play with. It has a lot of good qualities and i will practice with it to improve my focus.

Yes the EDGE is not bad but i reall like the ROSSIGNOL FT6.60 the best so far. I just got a YAMAHA SECRET 10 ll IT has potential and YAMAHA is a legend in tennis racquets. I have only hit against my rebound net so far but this weekend will be the court test. I will give a report if you want. Also i just bought another PRO STAFF CLASSIC 6.1 which i know is a good racquet

The Wilson Pro Staff 110 & 95 seemed to be the racquet of choice amongst the Players I knew

The only acceptable loss is when your opponent was better than you on that given day.
It is never acceptable to lose when your opponent was not.
