It is quite remarkable that a tennis player like Sharapova wants to be no`1 in the world. There are things that she does exceptionally well and others in a very low level. Without getting into deep analysis, just try to watch her shots (in her next game at the US OPEN) whenever she has to use more then 2 quick steps while running sideways, or after quick change of direction. The reason for mentioning that is to emphasize the difference between professional training and training which is more "holistic" as used in TENNISBYMIND. The idea in pro tennis is to define the best qualities in a player, develop them into a `weapon` and by doing so to relatively neglect other parts of the game. My idea is to create awareness to the game that can be used gradually in different situations in court. It seems that by adopting that state of mind, a slow and steady progress is being achieved, according to the time and effort a trainee is willing to invest. Eventually, progress is embracing all aspects of the game.
